Electro Mechanical Technician

Job Description:

Provide preventative and pro-active maintenance for production equipment per customer requirements, in a way that will allow for efficiency and on-time delivery of quality products.


  • Knowledge of Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing elements

  • Knowledge of Tooling and Fixturing (CNC programming and operation, welding, fabricating)

  • Knowledge of automotive and tool repair

  • Must be able to recognize and avoid electrical hazards

  • Must possess the decision making ability to determine the level of hazard, proper PPE and job planning to safely perform tasks

  • Pro-active team member (Positive communicator, solution-oriented, accountable)

  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook


1.  Provide all production processes with proper tooling, fixturing, and work instructions as assigned.

  • Troubleshoot/Repair equipment

  • Do maintenance on tooling and fixtures

  • Perform all levels of welding and mechanical repairs to machinery

  • Repair and possible fabrication of conveyors and component parts

  • Support production as required.

2. Assist in assessing new processes.

  • Participate in prototype build.

  • Assess material and consumable requirements.

  • Assess space requirements.

  • Assess tooling and fixture requirements. Present design proposals and/or tooling and fixturing quotes for review.

  • Cost, design and build ergonomic work stations.

3.  Make necessary and approved changes to manufacturing processes; suggest updates to work instructions as required. Update production log.

4. Identify, label, and protect customer owned tooling used in process.

5. Identify areas in process where improvements would result in increased efficiency, ergonomic benefit, and/or quality of product (through station audits).  Research and identify tooling to meet customer requirements, and/or to improve the process. Bring to Process Team for discussion and resource allocation. Follow up.

6.  Perform skilled maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment; test and replace circuits; coordinate emergency repairs and large complex projects; troubleshoot and correct defective switches, receptacles, ballasts and other wiring; perform routine mechanical and electrical maintenance.

7.  Estimate cost of labor and materials for work orders; obtain competitive prices for equipment and supplies needed.

8.  Operate a variety of equipment and machines including saws, drill presses, grinders, MIG/TIG welders, plasma torches, cutting equipment, and various pneumatic and power tools to perform repair and maintenance work; maintain tools and equipment in a safe, clean and proper working condition

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Reach, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls with hands and arms, legs and feet

  • Stand, walk; sit; climb; balance; stoop; kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb ladders/steps

  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds for a minimal distance

  • Talk to, communicate with and hear others

  • See (vision abilities include; close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus)

  • Ability to maintain mental focus and concentration

  • Perform all duties day and night, on all surfaces and in all-weather conditions

Salary and Benefits: 

  • $21/HR - $29/HR & will depend on which shift and of level of experience.
